Introducing Daisy – our Resident Therapy Dog!
…She is soooo excited to begin her new job!
Daisy is a 4 year old Red Tick Coon Hound. She was rescued from a kill shelter in Arkansas and transported up the east coast and now has a full and exciting life in Vermont! She lives with 2 cats, 2 teenage boys as well as Laura Nichols and her partner Christopher, in St. Johnsbury.
Daisy loves to chase squirrels, run just about anywhere, and snuggles like a champ. She is a certified Therapy Dog with Therapy Dogs of Vermont. This means she was evaluated over a series of assessment days, is fully immunized, and passed behavior scenarios suitable for all environments. Her resume includes working in two nursing homes as well as individual visits for individuals requesting a Therapy Dog due to trauma.
She will be coming to Oxbow one day a week to support students and adults who may need her affection throughout the day. She will always be with her certified handler, Laura Nichols, as she is formerly considered a Working Dog.
