They will be honored in the June 12th publication of the Valley News and have been invited to a dinner reception at the Fireside Inn on June 19th. The Oxbow Softball team took care of Harwood on the diamond last night with a (14-0) win. Alyssa Armitage went 2 for 4 with two doubles. The girls record is now 9-2 and they are currently ranked 2nd in their division as they look towards the playoffs.
The varsity baseball team had a tough game against the number one ranked Harwood team falling 11-0. The basseball team will be traveling to Lamoille today (5/18).
Saturday’s (5/19) The middle school baseball game at Rivendell scheduled for 3 Pm has been canceled due to impending weather.
On Tuesday, May 22nd there will be an assembly at 2 PM in the gymnasium. At that time we will be revealing the cross country 2016 championship banner and the 2017 softball undefeated championship banner. Anyone who wishes to attend is welcome. Following the banner reveal the Oxbow softball and baseball teams will be hosting Lyndon Institute. (4:30PM)
After running the 800m and finishing 3rd in the Glen Loucks Games in White Plains, NY the day before, Izzy Giesing finished 1st in the 800m at the Burlington Invitational.
Other notable performances were done by Owen Pelletier of Rivendell who won the 100 Meter Dash and the Long Jump. Tim Hodges and Izzy Giesing also set new Oxbow school records in the men’s and women’s triple jump. Tim set a school record in the 300 Hurdles, and Keelan Durham set a new school record in the 1500. Numerous Oxbow performances were personal bests. Here is the link for official results:
In a very close contest the varsity baseball team defeated Montpelier 3-2. Sophomore Jace Page batted in the winning run, while Orin Mahikoa had 6 good innings on the mound with 11 strike outs. Cody Grant came into the game in the 7th to get the save.
The varsity softball team had a convincing win over Richford (17-0). Madie Fornwalt went the distance on the mound, throwing a no-hitter with 12 strike outs and one walk.
Both teams are at home today versus Lake Region, game time at 4:30.
Oxbow had a good day at the Dirt Classic at Spaulding High School on Tuesday, 5/9.

Thursday’s (5/10) softball and baseball games will be played at 4 PM instead of 4:30.
