The Gay-Straight Alliance’s (GSA) goal is to create a safe and accepting environment for Oxbow community members and to work to end harassment and discrimination. The GSA seeks to raise awareness and educate the Oxbow Community about the issues of gender identity, sexual orientation, homophobia, and transphobia. In addition, the GSA aims to offer community resources and a peer support system to those Oxbow community members who are/fear suffering from harassment and discrimination.

The club began in December 2012.  The GSA is a student-run club that brings together LGBTQ and straight students to support each other, provide a safe place to socialize, and create a platform to fight for racial, gender, LGBTQ, and economic justice.  A student does not have to identify themselves as LGBTQ in order to be a part of this club.
